What’s more, though, is that the little ones in your life are certain to appreciate a good cookie now and then, even if you want it to be a bit healthier. Molasses Cookies: For this one, you’ll need 2 tablespoons of ground flax, an egg white, a banana, a cup of whole wheat flour, a cup of oats, ½ cup of molasses, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of ground ginger, and a teaspoon of baking soda. Start by preheating your oven to 350. Combine your flax and egg white. Set it aside, and mash a banana in a different bowl. Add the flour and oats, then mix it well. Add your flax/egg white mixture as well as your molasses, and make certain you’ve mixed until it’s all well combined. Add all of your additional ingredients, scoop the dough out by rounded cookie scoop, then put it on a baking sheet. Bake it for 25 minutes. You should get about two dozen cookies out of this recipe.
Applesauce Cookies: If you’re looking for a treat that is completely sugar free, this is the one for you. You’ll need 3 ripe bananas, 2 cups of oatmeal, 1/3 cup of applesauce, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 1 tablespoon of ground flax, and ½ cup of dried cherries. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Mash your bananas in a bowl, then add all of your other ingredients. Drop your dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto a parchment lined cookie sheet, then bake for twenty minutes. You should get about three dozen cookies.
Carrot Cake Cookies: If you’re looking for pure deliciousness in one bit, this is certainly the recipe you want to try. You’ll need a cup of whole wheat flour, ½ teaspoon of baking soda, 1 ½ cups of oatmeal, a teaspoon of cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg, 2 egg whites, ¾ cup of brown sugar, ¼ cup vegetable oil, ¼ cup of canned pineapple (be sure to drain it), ½ cup skim milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 1 cup of raisins, 1 cup of grated carrots, 1 tablespoon of orange zest, and ½ cup of walnuts. Preheat your oven to 375, combine all of your dry ingredients in one bowl. Combine all of your wet ingredients in another. Mix them together. Drop by the tablespoon onto a lightly greased baking sheet, and bake for fifteen minutes. You should get about 3 dozen cookies.
No Bake Chocolate Cookies: Any time you’re trying to stay healthy but you find a recipe for chocolate, you have to take a chance on it. Chocolate is always delicious, and this one doesn’t even require any baking. To get started, you need a mashed banana, four tablespoons of butter, a cup of sugar, ¾ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, ½ cup skim milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 2 cups of instant oatmeal, and ½ cup peanut butter. Combine everything except the vanilla and oatmeal in a pan. Bring it to a boil. Let it cool, then add the vanilla and oatmeal. Drop it by the teaspoonful onto wax paper, and let it cool. You should get about 3 dozen cookies.
